Overview
Meet&Co delivered Deloitte Innovation Centre in Cairo, breaking the traditional cubicle office model. Centered on employee autonomy, workplace wellness and inclusivity, the project adopts biophilic design and precise acoustic control to create a full spectrum of flexible spaces shifting between focused work and teamwork. Integrated with local cultural symbols such as Egyptian hieroglyphs embedded into materials and partitions, the workspace is a human-centric office accommodating diverse working behaviours.
The Challenge
Conventional fixed workstations failed to meet employees’ varied demands and struggled to balance individual focus and team collaboration. Besides, as an international brand settling in Cairo, Deloitte faced conflicts between global corporate standards and local cultural identity. The office also needed proper acoustic comfort, ample natural light, and a flexible system adaptable to different sensory preferences and working rhythms.
The Solution
1.A continuous spectrum of zones was created, including acoustic booths, semi-private nooks, casual collaboration zones and modular meeting rooms to grant employees spatial autonomy.
2.Pervasive biophilic design, soft curved forms and contour-inspired sculptural acoustic ceilings improved sound environments.
3.Local motifs printed on glass partitions combine privacy and cultural storytelling. 4.Textured carpets and other sound-absorbing materials were deployed, with a central circulation axis linking all functions to build a flexible office rooted in wellness and inclusivity.
The Results
Free from rigid workstation grids, the new office allows staff to switch zones freely according to tasks and greatly boosts workplace autonomy. What's more, this project provides optimized acoustics, natural light and planting to reduce cognitive fatigue and embrace diverse working states.
